Introduction
When we hear the word “model,” the first thing that comes to mind is a young, beautiful person walking down the runway. However, the modeling industry has changed over the years, and people of all ages and sizes can now enter the industry. In this article, I will share my journey of becoming a model at the age of 35.
My Background
I have always been interested in fashion and modeling, but I never thought it was possible for me to become a model. I am a mother of two and have a full-time job, so I thought that my dream of becoming a model was out of reach. However, one day, I decided to take the plunge and pursue my dream.

Starting Out
My first step was to research modeling agencies that were looking for older models. I found a few agencies that were interested in my look and decided to send in my photos. I was surprised when I received a call back from one of the agencies, asking me to come in for an interview.
The Interview
At the interview, I was nervous but excited. The agency representative asked me about my background, my interests, and my availability. She also looked at my portfolio and asked me to walk for her. I was surprised when she told me that I had potential and that she would like to sign me as a model.

Training
After signing with the agency, I underwent training to learn how to walk, pose, and project myself on camera. The training was tough, but it was worth it. I learned a lot about the industry and how to present myself in front of the camera.
My First Shoot
My first shoot was nerve-wracking, but it was also exhilarating. I was working with a team of professionals who made me feel comfortable and confident. The photos turned out great, and I was excited to see them in print.
Building My Portfolio
After my first shoot, I started building my portfolio. I worked with different photographers and makeup artists to create a diverse range of images. I also started networking and attending casting calls to gain more exposure in the industry.
My First Job
My first job was a commercial shoot for a local clothing brand. It was a fun experience, and I was grateful for the opportunity. After that, I started booking more jobs, including fashion shows and print ads.
Challenges
Being a model is not easy, and there were times when I faced challenges. For example, some clients preferred younger models or had specific requirements that I didn't meet. However, I didn't let these challenges discourage me. I continued to work hard and improve my skills.
Successes
Despite the challenges, I had many successes in my modeling career. I worked with reputable brands, appeared in magazines, and walked in fashion shows. I also gained confidence and learned valuable skills that I can apply in other areas of my life.

Conclusion
Becoming a model at the age of 35 was a dream come true for me. It was a challenging journey, but it was also a rewarding one. I learned that age is just a number, and you can achieve your dreams no matter how old you are. I hope that my story inspires others to pursue their passions and never give up on their dreams.
